Let the psalm be unceasingly in your mouth.

The Psalter is a sacred book containing a collection of sacred songs of the Old Testament Church. The content of the Psalter is varied - it contains the teaching of faith, and the teaching of morality, and prophecies about Christ and the Church of the New Testament, and stories about the miracles of the Old Testament, and images of the power of God, full of sacred delight, appearing in the creation of the world, in providing for it, and especially in providence for those who know and honor God. David himself, the creator of the psalms, notes that "the psalms of Israel are magnificent," and explains the reasons for this magnificence: The Spirit of the Lord has spoken in me, and his word is on my tongue(2 Kings 23:2). This inner lofty dignity of the psalms was the reason why, from the beginning of Christianity, the Psalter came into use among the faithful. The holy fathers, and especially the hermits, spent almost all their time singing psalms, without interrupting it even during their bodily activities. Thus, the Psalter came into widespread use in the Christian Church and, while remaining a book inspired by God, became at the same time a liturgical book.
For home or cell use, the Psalter is published divided into kathisma, with touching troparia and prayers after each kathisma. The reading of the Psalter is considered by the Fathers of the Church to be an occupation in the highest degree soulful and pious.
The king and prophet David pronounces prophecies, exhortations and legal provisions in the psalms and offers either moral or dogmatic teaching, sometimes mourns the disasters of the Jews, and sometimes prophetically sings of the salvation of the Gentiles, in many places predicts the suffering and resurrection of the Lord Christ. There are several interpretations of the Psalms of the Psalms by the holy fathers of the Church, as well as advice and instructions from the holy fathers regarding the reading of the Psalms of the Psalms. This book introduces readers to some of them.
About reading the Psalter for every need
Compiled according to the writings of St. Athanasius the Great
Everyone, reciting psalms, let him be trustworthy that God will soon hear those who ask with a psalm word.
For whether anyone endures temptations and persecution - singing psalms, will appear virtuous and will be patronized by the Lord, who patronized the one who spoke the psalm, or will put the devil to flight and repel his demons.
If anyone has sinned, reading the psalms, he will come to his senses and stop sinning.
And if someone has not sinned, he will see himself rejoicing that he competes with those who precede, and singing psalms, he prevails in the struggle, and he will never waver in the truth, but will convict those who deceive and intend to lead astray ...
I heard from wise men that in ancient times, among the Israelites, only by reading the Scriptures they drove out demons and exposed the intrigues they perpetrated to people.
So, in various circumstances, read the psalms:

Psalms read if you want to correct a person from shortcomings

If you want to correct someone from shortcomings, then cast sorrow on the Lord ( psalm 54: "Inspire, O God, my prayer"; psalm 23: "The land of the Lord, and the fulfillment of it") and pray to Him, testing our hearts and wombs ( psalm 7: "Lord my God, I put my trust in you"; psalm 10: “I trust in the Lord”) from the bottom of my heart, so that He Himself enlightens the mind and heart of man; if He sees that your prayer breathes love and comes from the whole heart, then he will certainly fulfill the desire of your heart, and you will soon say, seeing a change in the one for whom you pray: “This is a betrayal of the right hand of the Most High” (Psalm 76: “With my voice cry to the Lord"; psalm 11: "Save me, Lord").

On the Daily Reading of the Six Psalms
Six Psalmie (Eksapsalmy)
Six Psalms - These are six psalms that are read at the beginning of Matins. The Six Psalms begins with a doxology: Gloria, and prayer: Lord, open my mouth. In the midst of the Six Psalms and at the end of it, the Holy Trinity is glorified three times hallelujah.
The psalms that make up the sixth psalm are so touching, their content is so close to us (they depict, on the one hand, the greatness of God and the abundance of His good deeds to man, on the other, the insignificance and sinfulness of man) that the Holy Church pays special attention to our for this reading. The statute says that during this reading “not to have anyone in the power to create whispers, below spit or snort (spit); but rather listen to what is said from the psalmist, the hands of the possessions are bent to the Persians, the heads are bowed, and the eyes of the possessions are down (lowered to the ground), the eyes of the heart are sighted to the east, praying for our sins, remembering death, and future torment, and eternal life. To arouse more attention in the worshipers, when reading the six-salmia, the charter commands to extinguish the candles and remain by the light of the lamps.
Psalm 3
This psalm, the first of the so-called Six Psalms, which is part of Matins, has the purpose of giving thanks to God for saving life on the past night with a prayer for sending down prosperity on the coming day, with which this psalm is in agreement. (I lie down, sleep, get up ... Arise, Lord! Save me…)
Psalm 37
This psalm occupies the second place in the Six Psalms. With the words of this psalm, every believer repents before God of his sinfulness with the confession of complete submission in devotion to His will (v. 16). The person here expresses a desire in the coming day to make amends for the bad deeds he has done (v. 19).
Psalm 62
Psalm 62 occupies the third place in the Six Psalms, composing a prayer to God when the day comes, that it (prayer) be pleasing to God (v. 6 ) and that the Lord accept the one who prays under the “shadow of His wings” (v. 8 ) for the next day.
Psalm 87
This is the fourth psalm in the Six Psalms. The darkness of the night resembles hell, sleep is death. By the appointment of this psalm in the morning service: before the day comes, the Church reminds a person of the need for efforts on his part in order to avoid rejection from God, which is possible only with the help of God and prayer to Him (vv. 5, 14), so as not to be subjected to eternal night, eternal death.
Psalm 102
The fifth psalm in the Six Psalms shows the image of the merciful attitude of God towards man and is distinguished by unusual touching.
Psalm 142
This psalm is the last in the sixth psalm. Having strengthened a person in the hope of receiving salvation (ps. 102), the Church, on behalf of the believers, prays to God to show him the path of activity (v. 8 ), teach him to do His will and honor him land of truth(art. 10 ).

In despondency and in unaccountable grief: Psalm 26
The Lord is my light and my Savior, whom shall I fear? Lord Protector of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? Sometimes approach me angry, hedgehog to demolish my flesh that offends me, and defeat mine, these are exhausted and fallen. If the regiment takes up arms against me, my heart will not be afraid, if the scolding rises up against me, I trust in Him. I asked the Lord alone, then I will seek: if we live in the house of the Lord all the days of my belly, see the beauty of the Lord and visit His holy temple. As if hiding me in Your village on the day of my evils, covering me in the mystery of Your village, exalt me to a stone. And now, lift up my head, against my enemies: I have lived and devoured in His village the sacrifice of praise and exclamation, I will sing and sing to the Lord. With accusations and slander being raised against you: Psalm 7
Lord my God, in Thee, save me from all those who persecute me and deliver me: let not when like a lion steal away my soul, not redeeming me, saving me below. Lord my God, if I do this, if there is unrighteousness in my hand, if I repay those who repay evil to me, then I will fall away from my thin enemies. May the enemy reap my soul, and may it overtake me, and trample my belly into the ground, and plant my glory in the dust. Resurrect, O Lord, by Thy wrath, exalt thy enemy in the ends, and arise, O Lord my God, by the commandment that thou hast commanded. And a host of people will go around Thee, and about that they will turn to the height. The Lord judges people: judge me, Lord, according to my righteousness, and according to my kindness towards me. May the wickedness of sinners end, and correct the righteous, test the hearts and wombs, God is righteous. My help is from God, Who saves the right in heart. God the Judge is righteous and strong, and long-suffering, and does not induce anger all day long. If you do not turn, this weapon will cleanse, His bow is strained and prepared, and, and in it the vessels of death are prepared, His arrows are made burning. Behold, more unrighteousness, sickness is conceived, and iniquity is born: a ditch, and a pit, and an osprey, and it will fall into a pit, which it has made. His sickness will turn on his head, and his unrighteousness will bring him down on top. Let us confess to the Lord in His righteousness, and I will sing to the name of the Lord Most High.
For Humility of Spirit: Psalm 27
To Thee, O Lord, I will cry, O my God, lest be silent from me, lest at any time be silent from me: and I will become like those who go down into the pit. Hear, O Lord, the voice of my supplication, always pray to Thee, always lift up my hands to Your holy temple. Do not attract me with sinners, and do not destroy me with those who do wrong, who speak peace with their neighbors, but evil in their hearts. Give them, O Lord, according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their undertakings; according to their deeds, give them their hand; repay their recompense to them. For I am not wise in the works of the Lord and in the works of His hand: I will destroy, and I will not build up. Blessed be the Lord, for having heard the voice of my supplication. The Lord is my Helper and my Protector: my heart will trust in Him, and help me, and my flesh prosper, and by my will we will confess Him. The Lord is the affirmation of His people, and the Defender of the salvation of His Christ is. Save Thy people and bless Thy inheritance, and save me, and take me forever.
In defense against enemies, in misfortunes, in the machinations of human and enemy: Psalm 90
Alive in the help of the Most High, in the blood of the God of Heaven will settle. The Lord says: Thou art my intercessor and my refuge, my God, and I trust in Him. As if He will deliver thee from the net of the hunter, and from the rebellious word, His splash will overshadow thee, and under His wings you hope: His truth will be your weapon. Do not be afraid of the fear of the night, from the arrow flying in the days, from the thing in the darkness of the transient, from the scum, and the demon of the noonday. A thousand will fall from your country, and darkness at your right hand, but it will not come close to you, both look at your eyes, and see the reward of sinners. As you, O Lord, are my hope, the Most High have laid down your refuge. Evil will not come to you, and the wound will not approach your body, as if by His Angel a commandment about you, save you in all your ways. They will take you in their hands, but not when you stumble your foot on a stone, step on the asp and the basilisk, and cross the lion and the serpent. For I have trusted in Me, and I will deliver, and I will cover, and, as I know My name. He will call to Me, and I will hear him: I am with him in sorrow, I will crush him, and I will glorify him, I will fulfill him with long life, and I will show him My salvation.
To protect yourself from grave sins: Psalm 18
The heavens will proclaim the glory of God, but the firmament proclaims the creation by His hand. Day by day the verb burps, and night by night proclaims reason. Not the essence of speech, below the word, their voices are not heard. Their pronouncements have gone out to all the earth, and their words to the ends of the world. Put Your village in the sun, and He, like the Bridegroom, proceeding from His palace, will rejoice, like the Giant of the mother-in-law's path. From the end of heaven, His departure, and meeting Him to the end of heaven, and there is no one else who hides His warmth. The law of the Lord is blameless, converting souls; the testimony of the Lord is sure, making children wise. The justifications of the Lord are right, gladdening the heart; the commandment of the Lord is bright, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the Lord is pure, abide forever and ever: the fates of the Lord are true, justified together, coveted more than gold and stone, many are honest and sweeter than honey and honeycomb. For I keep Thy servant, I always keep, the reward is much. Who understands the fall? Cleanse me from my secrets, and spare Thy servant from strangers, if they do not possess me, then I will be blameless and cleansed of great sin. And the words of my mouth will be in favor, and the teaching of my heart before you will be taken out, O Lord, my Helper and my Redeemer.
On the forgiveness of sins and in repentance: Psalm 50
Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy, and according to the multitude of Thy mercies, cleanse my iniquity. Wash me most of all from my iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin. As I know my iniquity, and my sin before me is taken out. I have sinned against You alone, and I have done evil before You, as if You were justified in Your words and won, when You judge. Behold, I was conceived in iniquity, and in sins give birth to me, my mother. Behold, thou hast loved the truth, Thy obscure and secret wisdom revealed to me. Sprinkle me with hyssop, and I shall be cleansed; wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Give joy and gladness to my ears, the bones of the humble will rejoice. Turn Your face away from my sins, and cleanse all my iniquities. Create a pure heart in me, O God, and renew a right spirit in my womb. Cast me not away from Thy presence, and take not Thy Holy Spirit from me. Give me the joy of Your salvation, and confirm me with the Sovereign Spirit. I will teach the wicked in Your way, and the wicked will turn to You. Deliver me from the blood, O God, God of my salvation, my tongue will rejoice in Your righteousness. Lord, open my mouth, and my mouth will proclaim your praise. As if you would have desired sacrifices, you would have given them, you did not favor burnt offerings. Sacrifice to God, the spirit is broken, the heart is contrite and humble, God will not despise. Please, O Lord, with Thy favor Zion, and let the walls of Jerusalem be built. Then be pleased with the sacrifice of righteousness, an offering and a burnt offering, then they will offer calves on Your altar.
In gratitude for every good deed of God: Psalm 33
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise is always in my mouth. My soul will boast in the Lord, that the meek will hear and rejoice. Praise the Lord with me, and let us exalt His name together. Seek the Lord and hear me, and deliver me from all my sorrows. Draw near to Him and be enlightened, and your faces will not be put to shame. This poor man called, and the Lord heard and, and saved him from all sorrows. The Angel of the Lord will encamp around those who fear Him, and deliver them. Taste and see how good the Lord is; blessed is the man who hopes for Nan. Fear the Lord, all His saints, for there is no deprivation for those who fear Him. The rich are impoverished and drunk, but those who seek the Lord will not be deprived of any good. Come, children, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. Who is a man, even though he belly, love to see good days? Keep your tongue from evil, and your mouth, hedgehog not to speak flattering. Turn away from evil and do good. Seek peace, and marry and. The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are on their prayer. The face of the Lord, on evil doers, consume their memory from the earth. Calling on the righteous, and the Lord heard them, and deliver them from all their sorrows. The Lord is near the brokenhearted, and saves the humble in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, and the Lord will deliver them from them all. The Lord preserves all their bones, not a single one of them will be broken. The death of sinners is cruel, and those who hate the righteous will sin. The Lord will redeem the souls of His servants, and all who trust in Him will not sin.
